Steam Mop Cleaning
- Prepare the cleaning kit and make sure the mop is unplugged!
You will need the simple cleaning kit, which includes warm water, cleanser, some baking soda and a piece of soft cloth or microfiber. The steam mop should be cold. After cleaning wait up to 15 minutes for that. However, if it’s cold, it doesn’t mean that it’s unplugged. For cleaning your mop, you must be sure, that it’s disconnected from electricity.
- Empty the water reservoir.
After cleaning you need to drain the water reservoir. Please, always follow this as a rule. Leaving the water inside can cause serious problems with the mop exploitation in the nearest future. It may be a reason for corrosion. So, after each steam mopping you should drain water from the tank.
- Clean the mop pads properly.
Almost every mop comes with reusable pads, which you can use for a long time. This is the most usable part of a mop, so it should be cleaned as sedulously as possible. For sure, you can just throw them away and buy new for every cleaning, but we want you to save your money!
- First, detach the dirty pad from the bottom of a cleaning device.
- Wet the cleaning pad in a simple cleanser.
- Add a spoon of baking soda to the water.
- Let it soak for a while. 20 minutes will be enough.

- Rinse the pad carefully, make sure it’s out of soap.

- Cleaning the unit surface.
Everything is simple in this step. Gently wipe out the entire surface of the mop with a soft cloth or sponge it off with a simple washcloth. Use a towel as in the previous step. However, don’t forget to be careful with on/off switch.
- Attach the water reservoir back to the mop.
After the process of cleaning is complete, you can reattach the water reservoir back to the mop. Don’t forget that you shouldn’t add water inside to store it. Add water only before the cleaning itself. To prevent the corrosion of the tank, you can also dry the reservoir of your steam mop. Previous steps should be useful for doing it.
